About the track:

Riding the wave of critical acclaim off his Oddisee-produced sophomore album, Everything Changed Nothing, Trek Life continues to show the world his lyrical prowess on the Richard Wright remix, “The Switch Up 2.0,” produced by J.Bizness. “I got here, I learned to make something from less/ And I don’t front to be fresh, and I ain’t frontin’ for press/ Nah, that ain’t never my style, I just provide sound/ I make bigger moves; leave y’all to write it down/ I’m trying’ to see shows for more than four figures/ Go ahead, make the blogs, we’ll make SportsCenter,” rhymes Trek.

Unlike many other rappers, Trek’s not just talk: his single, “So Supreme,” was used by ESPN for both NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals spots which can be seen here: http://www.audibletreats.com/pr/treklife_pr2.html The West Covina emcee flows effortlessly over J.Biz’s driving electric guitar, vocal samples and sporadic chimes while the drumbeat keeps heads bobbing and bodies moving. A bonus track, not included on Everything Changed Nothing, this remix showcases Trek Life’s poised delivery as he quickly climbs to the top of the west coast hip-hop scene.

House of M members A.P.R.I.M.E. and Trellmatic have scheduled their sophomore album titled Transistor to drop on August 28th, 2010. Two singles have been released to give you a taste of what to expect on this anticipated album. The singles, Once Again and Black Gold, can be streamed and downloaded (for free) below. I had the pleasure of listening to an advance copy of this 19-track album and it’s a banger so don’t sleep! If you’re not located in the Milwaukee area you can pick up your copy from the House of Mutants’ website or from major digital retailers.

The lead single “Once Again” is an amazing jazz infused song that showcases the honest and witty lyrics A.P.R.I.M.E. has become known for. The B-side “Black Gold” has A.P.R.I.M.E. and Trellmatic back together with their House of M brothers for a track laced with venom, dedicated to the mythical evil figure Dr.Wacktagon and all his henchmen that are polluting the music and culture the M so loves.

The album was engineered by fellow House of M member Raze as well as Rhymefest associate Jonathon Frost.

Humpasaur Joness says:

Against my better judgement, I’m releasing this for free. To return to the favor, play this for people who have never heard of me. Deal? Thank you.

He also mentions this:

Beat 1: Dr. Quandary — for the record, he hates this beat and wishes I hadn’t used it.

Beat 2: Ronnie Raygun, who produced Alaskan Fishermen’s first album, Fire and Ice, which is one of the all-time greatest slept-on masterpieces in hip hop history, period.

After years of being only sporadically graced with new music from the artist who co-founded Rhymesayers,  conceived Dynospectrum & was welcomed into the Hiero family for his last full length release Sab The Artist has lately displayed just how prolific he can be.

In the short months since January he’s toured much of the country on his Awful Truth tour with Abstract Rude, performed guest spots for Pep Love, released the Sab The Artist EP & today dropped the 15th installment in his Leak Series “The Leopard”.

Here’s what he had to say about the latest offering:

Two things that never go out of style… jeans… and leopard print. Some girls say they don’t like pink, but I’ve never heard any one say they don’t like leopard. The Leak Series continues…… please enjoy.
