BOAC, an acronym for “Banging Out All Classics”, is an independent hip-hop producer from San Francisco’s Bay Area. He is a founding member of The Earthlings, a group that has played and toured with names like De La Soul, ODB, KRS-One, Rakim, Living Legends, Hieroglyphics and Jurassic 5, just to name a few. On top of that, he is the founder of Machete Vox Records, an indie record label. He also attends colleges across the U.S. to speak on the topic of diversity.

BOAC is working on a handful of anticipated projects such as a collaboration album between Sadat and A.G., Z-Man’s upcoming albums Show Up, Shut Up and Rap and Six Pack Of Dynamite and he produced the track “The Doorman Song” off Mystik Journeymen’s long awaited album, Return To Eternia.

1. Tell us something nobody knows about you?

I went to high school with Tupac. I used to listen to him freestyle all the time after school.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

Inspiration to motivate and have fun with life. And make that scrunched look on their face when they hear it. That happens when I hear an ill beat.

3. What is one of your biggest regrets?

Not getting a steak on tour in Texas. Also I’m mad at myself for not releasing more albums over the last few years. But mainly the steak.

4. What is your greatest memory in hip-hop?

I’ve got a lot of them. Sitting on the side of the stage watching James Brown rehearse. Touring with Souls of Mischief for 45 shows. Getting a phone call from my friend telling me he just got signed to Def Jam.

5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Running my record label (Machete Vox), producing, rapping, touring. Either that or standup comedy.
