Celph Titled & Buckwild VS Termanology & Statik Selektah
As the first installment of the This or That column here’s an introduction: Each month we’ll present you with a choice between two comparable artists, tracks, albums, songs, duos or other choices that can be pitted against each other for our amusement. We’ll ask for your input as we try to determine which one is superior, drop your vote in the comments and fel free to belittle others who think differently. So — this, or that?
First up, Demigodz affiliate, Celph Titled, dropped his first official solo album, teaming up with legendary producer Buckwild for the entirety of the beatsmithing. Having dug through decades-old beat catalogs, the duo cleverly dubbed their concoctio, Nineteen Ninety Now.
In the other corner, the Massachusetts-bred Termanology also teamed up for a an album with the same October 26 release date. His producer of choice was the highly-regarded Statik Selektah, who laid all of the melodies for their collaborative effort, 1982.
So, which one-MC, one-producer duo did it better? You decide. This (Celph Titled & Buckwild) or That (Termanology & Statik Selektah)?
