The 12 Days of Hipmas

We here at aboveGround want to spread a little holiday cheer by providing you, our readers, with a chance to celebrate the Christmas season with 12 days of music to jam out to. From December 13-25 we will be releasing 12 album-length compilations and mixes from various groups, labels and DJs.

The goal of our website has always been and remains to be to promote dope underground hip-hop music and the people who make it. To provide a safe-haven for those distraught with the mainstream version of hip-hop that’s so far removed from the original culture. In our efforts to promote the music, we try to provide stories, interviews, news and of course downloads — but no artist can survive on free downloads alone. Artists need your support to help them sustain and to keep making the music that you enjoy.

With that being said, each download will be accompanied with links where you will be able to purchase music from the artists that are involved. These downloads are meant to be samples, or tastes for what the various groups and artists have to offer. Please use them as such, if you like what you hear in these downloads, support the artist by purchasing their music.
