You Need This Music: Hail Mary Mallon, Tech N9ne, Hopsin, eLZhi, Pharoahe Monch, Phonte
What up everyone? This week I’m bringing you a recap of five pieces that definitely need to be listened to more than once. I start with a mixtape, two singles and then three videos so check it out and let me know what you think.
1.) Skyzoo – The Great Debater

So last week I put the single “Atypical” up here as one of the dopest tracks of the week. Now after many leaks from The Great Debater Brooklyn’s Skyzoo finally decided to release the whole thing and has generated a solid amount of buzz from it, click the download link below for the super lyrical mixtape to see what it’s all about, and enjoy.

2.) Tech N9ne ft B.O.B. & Hopsin – Am I A Psycho

Tech released multiple singles off All 6′s and 7′s before it dropped (available on iTunes now), and then hyped this up right after the release. Featuring California’s Funk Volume rep Hopsin and B.O.B., which is an unlikely combination “Am I A Psycho” actually fits surprisingly well. Hopsin goes in with a variety of flows as well as B.O.B. keeping up with Tech just fine. Dope track.

3.) Hail Mary Mallon – Meter Feeder
Here’s the really interesting video for “Meter Feeder” by the boys of Hail Mary Mallon. Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz have been killing it with Are You Gonna Eat That? on Rhymesayers.
4.) eLZhi – It Ain’t Hard To Tell
Been a couple weeks since I’ve brought you anything from eLZhi. In case you didn’t know the critique for Elmatic was very good and he decided to whip up some visuals for the track “It Ain’t Hard To Tell.” So if you’re unfamiliar with the man behind all the dope tracks you’ve been hearing, check this out.
5.) Pharoahe Monch ft. Styles P & Phonte – Black Hand Side
Not to make it all videos this week, but there were just a lot more good video than singles it would seem. Here’s the visuals for “Black Hand Side” off Pharoahe Monch’s W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) featuring Styles P and Phonte.
