Out This Week: Apathy, Stetsasonic, Outerspace
Although only three releases on our radar this week, Apathy’s Honkey Kong is easily one of the most-anticipated releases in recent history.
Apathy – Honkey Kong
The Connecticut rapper releases what is technically only his third retail release, Honkey Kong. With an all-star cast of guests and board-handlers, this release is poised to be his best record yet.
Outerspace – My Brother’s Keeper
Army of the Pharaohs cohorts and Jedi Mind Trick affiliates, the duo known as Outerspace (Planetary and Crypt the Warchild) release their fifth group album. Tapping maany of their most frequent collaborators (Ill Bill, Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Blacastan, etc), the Philly two-some prepares a release that’s sure to ruffle some feathers.
Stetsasonic – On Fire
One of New York’s seminal rap supergroups, Stetsasonic’s 1986 debut, On Fire, is re-released via Traffic Entertainment. The pioneering alternative hip hop and jazz-fusion outfits features works from Prince Paul, Frukwan, Wise, Daddy-O, DBC, MC Delite and Bobby Simmons.
