Want to get serious, hands-on experience working for a magazine? We are looking for motivated writers, photographers, and designers who can reliably contribute to our site.

If you’re up on hip-hop culture and want to write for aboveGround Magazine, please contact Tyler Hakes directly. Also, note that all positions are volunteer. We can not offer monetary compensation at this time. Do not hesitate to contact Tyler with any questions regarding contributing to the site.

Positions available:

• Features / Articles – Must be able to write compelling, feature-length articles, conduct interviews, insightful analysis and dramatic storytelling. Please include a sample of your writing with the e-mail.

• Reviews – Must have broad knowledge of music and ability to analysis musical composition on multiple levels. Please include a sample review with e-mail.

• Design & Layout – Basic layout and design requirements. Can help tweak website design as well as prepare graphics and photographs for use on the site and with articles. Include examples of work if available.

• Spot and Show Photography – Please include sample photographs with any correspondence.
