Straight Fire: Lazerbeak Spills the Recipe for Lava Bangers
Doomtree’s most prominent producer has been known to refer to his concoctions as “lava bangers”, a term that can only ignite images of hot magma teeming from your tweeters while your woofers boom out bass that rattles your teeth loose. The term has another meaning though — a literal equivalent, you could say — and Lazerbeak recently shared with fans how to recreate such a specimen. He didn’t detail some monotonous regime for crafting beats on an MPC however, this version of the lava banger, though, will give you a buzz. It’s a shot.
As part of the regular “Tuesdays with Lazerbeak” segment on Doomtree’s official website, he outlined the ingredients necessary for mixing up the firewater worthy of the same name as his best beats.
What you’ll need:
1. Welch’s Strawberry Soda
2. Bacardi 151
3. Cinammon
4. Pop Rocks
5. A lighter
What you do:
This shot may seem fairly straightforward, but anytime you’re dealing with lighters and alcohol, things can get messy. aboveGround must advise you to only attempt this under extreme caution; and we ain’t takin the blame if you burn down your crib.
1. Fill a shot glass half full of Welch’s soda
2. Top it off with Bacardi 151
3. Use lighter to light Bacardi. (Warning: Bacardi 151’s high alcohol content makes it EXTREMELY flammable, so watch it)
4. Sprinkle cinnamon onto the flame — this WILL make the flame size grow and begin to sparkle
5. BLOW OUT THE FLAME
6. Take the shot
7. Chase it with a handful of pop rocks, for chaser and for effect
And there you have it. Or, as Lazerbeak put it, “Bam, you just drank a genuine authentic Lava Banger, the liquid equivalent to what Lazerbeak beats sound like.”
