Tanya Morgan Trio Plan Three Solo Albums for 2010
After receiving wide-spread critical acclaim for their sophomore full-length release, Brooklynati, the three Brooklyn- and and Cincinnati-based MCs plan to release individual efforts throughout the year of 2010.
Donwill’s solo effort will be released on March 23, titled Don Cusak in High Fidelity, a nod to the film that stars Cusak. More tentative release dates of late-summer and the fall of 2010 will mark the release of Von Pea’s Pea’s Gotta Have It and Ilyas’ Hello, Hell respectively. In addition, the group is already eying a Spring-2011 release date for the next group effort.
“Pea’s Gotta Have It is the album I daydreamed about making one day back when I was in high school so it’s told from the perspective of a high school student. It starts on the first day of senior year and it ends right before graduation,” explains Von Pea regarding his solo debut.
Tanya Morgan are also planning numerous live shows throughout the year, including an appearance a the SXSW Music, Film and Interactive Festival in Austin Texas. Although the exact schedule has yet to be announced, their performance will take place sometime between March 17 and March 21 during the four days of musical performances during the event.
