Pharaohe Monch and Smif-N-Wessun Albums Get March Release Dates
The two pushed-back Duck Down releases appear to finally have release dates. According to reports from HipHopDX, both Pharaohe Monch’s third studio album and the much-anticipated Pete Rock-produced Smif-N-Wessun record are now slated for release in March.
The two albums, W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) by Pharaohe Monch, and Monumental from Smif-N-Wessun were both originally billed for release dates sometime in the third quarter of 2010. The albums were delayed without any further explanation. Rumors and reports began saying that they wouldn’t see the light of day until February of 2011, but this marks the first time that solid release dates appear to be set for both.
Monch revealed in an interview that his album was postponed mainly due to guest vocals, which weren’t finished on time for the original release date.
Now, according to reports from E1 Entertainment, the company that distributes Duck Down releases, and Amazon.com, both of the records have new release dates in March of this year.
Steele and Tek’s Monumental will hit shelves on March 8, and W.A.R. will follow shortly on March 22.
