Rob Swift Streams New Album ‘Architect’
Acclaimed DJ Rob Swift will be releasing his latest album, The Architect, on February 23; until then, the entire album can be streamed for free from Ipecac Recordings’ website, the home of his new effort.
The ex-X-ecutioners member picks up where his ’08 release Dust to Dust left off. The turntablist masterfully crafts a soundtrack of fragmented sounds pieced and patched into some sort of coherent story. The album consists of multiple genres of music, scratch work and various voice overs and rap verses.
Swift will celebrate the official release of the album on Thursday, February 25, at Legion Bar, 790 Metropolitan Ave, in Brooklyn. Various artists are slated to make guest appearances — although the exact line-up is unknown — and a performance from the entire X-ecutioners line-up (aside from Roc Raida, who’s tragic death in September of 2009 rocked the hip-hop world as one of the many legendary artists to pass last year) is slated to perform, according to Ipecac’s website.
