1. Madlib – Medicine Show 4: 420 Chalice All Star

Pressing on with his 4th monthly release Madlib takes his loyal beat fanatics to Jamaica for Madlib Medicine Show 4: 420 Chalice All Stars” Exploring the rich varieties of Jamaican music, including Ska, Dark Dub and some of the island’s best Funk ensembles.

2. MURS & 9th Wonder – Fornever

Combining yet again for their 3rd collaborative album Fornever, NC beatmaking and DJing (and teaching) force 9th Wonder travels west to get up with Nick Carter AKA MURS; the MC known far and wide for his undeniable gift of mic presence and forthright flow. Features include a nice lineup of L.A. hardrock’s, including Kurupt, Suga Free & Sick Jacken.

3. yU – Before Taxes

One third of the D.C. based group Diamond District, yU emerges with his own solo record that find him holding down the position of sole mic controller. Making a play on DD’s debut album title, yU brings us Before Taxesa project that contains some heavyweight assists from notable Hip-Hop names like Grap Luva, Kev Brown and of course DMV affiliate Oddisee.

4. Clutchy Hopkins – The Story Teller

The mysterious beat making entity known in many circles simply as “Clutchy Hopkins” returns with a brand new batch of instrumental goodies and more reasons to consider him an underground (in every sense of the word) powerhouse, perhaps even myth. The legend continues…
