Rhymesayers Announces Release Date For Hail Mary Mallon Album, Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, DJ Big Wiz Collaboration
As Aes, Rob and Wiz gear up the release the trio’s debut LP, Rhymesayers is on-hand to provide the imprint.
What’s being hailed as an “underground rap super group”, the collaborative effort from Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz under the name Hail Mary Mallon received an official release date this week. Are You Going To Eat That?, will be released from none other than the home of Atmosphere and friends, Rhymesayers announced this week.
“Named after Mary Mallon aka Typhoid Mary (the first person in US identified as a carrier of the pathogen associated with typhoid fever), the trio plans to spread their infectious blend of powerful production and back-forth rhyme schemes all over the world,” read the announcement posted on Rhymesayers’ website early this week.
The announcement comes just a few weeks after the group announced their Hail Mary Mallon tour dates with Moldy Peaches singer Kimya Dawson.
While there have been murmurs from Aesop Rock about the group since sometime around 2009, details regarding Hail Mary Mallon’s make-up and release plans have only begun to materialize in recent months. Their debut effort, Are You Going To Eat That?, is set for an official release on May 3 and June 7 in digital and physical formats respectively.
In toe with the album’s release announcement, the group also released a live-performance video for their first single, “Smock”, along with a promotional video for the record.
