Brooklyn MC Fresh Daily Releases Free Album, ‘The Quiet Life’
The Brooklyn spitter reacquaints fans with his syllablically-dense, laid-back style on his new free effort.
Nearly two years after the release of his critically-acclaimed solo debut album, Fresh Daily is the Gorgeous Killer in Crimes of Passion, Brooklyn-bred MC, Fresh Daily, returned today with the release of his latest effort, The Quiet Life.
Following his official debut on High Water Music in 2009, Fresh Daily’s musical direction saw a decided change with the release of Mothership/L A N D in August of 2010. The gritty, soulful sample soundscapes of Gorgeous Killer (provided courtesy of Illmind, Oh No, 88 Keys, Dj Spinna, Exile and more), were all but abandoned in lieu of a futuristic, synth-laden sound on his third full-length.
Daily’s newest offering strikes a middle ground between the two well-received releases, balancing the software-driven sounds of today with the familiar warm qualities of the boom-bap of yesteryear. The album boasts production credits from a number of both seasoned beatsmiths and some fresh faces including Shuko & Fonty, Theory Hazit, MNDSGN, Hi-Res and Lyle Horowitz.
