Blaq Poet Announces ‘Blaq Poet Society’ Release Date, Tracklisting
The Queensbridge rapper reveals details for his upcoming collaborative effort with producers Vanderslice and Stu Bangas.
Almost exactly one year after teaming up with DJ Premier’s Year Round Records for the release of Tha Blaqprint, Queens MC Blaq Poet announced this week that his newest effort, Blaq Poet Society, will be released in June of this year, and features production credits from just two beatsmiths, along with a handful of notable guest features.
The 40-year-old rapper’s newest effort will mark his fourth studio album as a solo artist, since his first release in 2006. Each of Blaq Poet Society‘s 14 tracks is produced by either Pennsylvania native, Vanderslice, or Boston-based Stu Bangas.
In addition, the record boasts numerous guest appearances from well-known members of the east coast underground circuit. R.A. the Rugged Man, Apathy, Celph Titled, and more make appearances on the album.
Blaq Poet’s Blaq Poet Society is scheduled for release via Brick Records on June 21. Watch the video below for behind-the-scenes footage of Stu Bangas and Vanderslice breaking down the beats they contributed to the album. Full album track list and album art are below the video.
