Nas Announces New Album Title, ‘Life Is Good’
Nasir Jones drops the first details about his forthcoming album.
This weekend the Queenbridge poet announced the first information about his newest album, tweeting the title of what will be Nas’ tenth solo effort.
“My new album title is- Life Is Good!!!!,” wrote Nasty Nas on Twitter this past Saturday.
Although details remain scant at the moment, there is a likelihood that Escobar will be teaming up with some heavy-weight producers for his newest solo work since 2008′s Untitled. He mentioned in an interview with Tim Westwood in 2010 that there had been interest from a number of big names. “It doesn’t even matter what producers, if it’s Swizz Beats, DJ Premier, Alchemist, Dr. Dre, Kanye West,” he told Westwood, also naming RZA as a potential producer. He even said that Kanye West called him to directly express interest on working on his next project.
Aside from the yet-to-be-confirmed production credits, Nas has announced that he’s enlisted the work of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (OFWGKTA) singer, Frank Ocean, as well as the newly-reunited Mobb Deep on this record.
It’s unclear at this time when Life Is Good will be released, although it seems to be holding precedence over the stalled Lost Tapes 2, which Nas proclaimed was “coming” triumphantly on Twitter last September. After the informal announcement, God’s Son went on to call out the record label Def Jam for holding up the release, penning an open letter to the imprint.
Stay tuned for more details on the next release from Nas as they become available.
