Although he didn’t offer much in terms of detail, Long Island rapper, R.A. The Rugged Man, posted on his Facebook wall on Monday to update his fans on his latest, yet-untitled release.

“Everyone asking about the NEW ALBUM,” he prefaced the post, “I’m 20 songs into it.” He continued, explaining that he has yet to figure out the album title and is currently in the process of continuing to mix the record as well as secure guest features and choose the first single and release date.

“Coming soon,” he wrote in closing.

R.A. The Rugged Man rose to prominence in the early-mid 1990s after working with a number of notable New York artists, including Notorious B.I.G., Mobb Deep, Jedi Mind Tricks and the Wu-Tang Clan. After signing to Jive Records, his contract was passed around and pushed-back until he began recording independently sometime around 2000. In 2004, he released his independent debut, Die, Rugged Man, Die on Nature Sounds to critical acclaim.

He followed this release with 2006′s Legendary Classics vol. 1, a collection of mostly rare and unreleased tracks that he had been a part of, including “Uncommon Valor”, the collaboration with Jedi Mind Tracks that deals with the aftermath of the Vietnam War.

Stay tuned for more details on R.A.’s third official release as they become available.
