MURS Cuts Dreads, Announces ‘Love and Rockets Vol.1: The Transformation’ Album With Ski Beatz
The Living Legends rapper reveals a new haircut and details on his newest music with a new producer.
California rapper MURS took to Facebook this weekend to update his fans on his current state of affairs. Not only did he offer his supporters some information on his latest musical efforts, but he also revealed that his long-time signature look — his dreadlocks — are no more.
“I’m in NY working on my new album with Ski Beatz,” MURS wrote on his Facebook page. “Love and Rockets Vol.1: The Transformation it’s due out this September on Bluroc/DD172.”
The west-coast rapper went on to explain that not only is his new music influenced by working with a new label and a new producer in Ski Beatz, but he also recently cut his hair, removing the dreadlocks that he’s had for the last five years.
“New label, new producer, and oh yeah new hairstyle thus the Transformation,” he wrote.
Ski Beatz, who rose to prominence following his work on Jay-Z’s debut and sophomore album, including the often-lauded single, “Dead Presidents” has since gone on to work with a number of well-known artists including Camp Lo, Curren$y and Talib Kweli. This album will mark the first time that he’s collaborated with Living Legends crew member, MURS.
MURS concluded his post by offering a number of photos of the two working in the studio, also showing off his new hair cut.
Full details on the album release aren’t yet available, but stay tuned for more information as it is released.
