Slaine Teams Up With Statik Selektah For New MixtapeBoston rapper Slaine let’s fans know that he’s working on a “classic” mixtape with producer/DJ Statik Selektah.

With frequent updates to his official Facebook page, rapper Slaine announced to fans this week that he’s currently working on a mixtape with esteemed producer and DJ, Statik Selektah.

“Working on this mixtape with [Statik Selektah] early next week,” the Boston native first wrote on June 16. He followed that up with an announcement early this morning that he was on his way to Brooklyn to work on the project.

“Overnight trippin to Brooklyn to make a classic mixtape with Statik [Selektah] for the true fans,” the rapper announced this morning, just a few weeks after the two appeared together on Sirius/XM’s Shade45.

The to-be-titled project has attracted attention from fans, garnering over 120 responses when Slaine asked for fan suggestions as to the name of the record.

The two appear to still be working on the project, as he updated his fans within the last hour on the latest progress. His most recent update announced that the project would be made available in July, although he didn’t offer any specific date.

Slaine’s A World With No Skies, originally scheduled to be released in 2010, was pushed back due to sample clearance issues. He’s since reschedule the album and announced that he plans to offer fans a bonus disc of new content that wasn’t a part of the original album, which leaked online sometime around the originally-scheduled release.

The La Coka Nostra member has scheduled the release of A World With No Skies 2.0 for August 16 of this year.
