The Foreign Exchange Set To Release Third Album in October
Phonte and Nicolay aren’t content with their recent Grammy nod, instead, they’re looking to continue their legacy with a new album. Their third release, which will be titled Authenticity, is current under development and set for release on October 12 of 2010, they duo recently announced.
Coming from the humble beginnings of meeting on the OkayPlayer message boards to making the cut for a Grammy nomination in 2009 for their track, “Daykeeper”, Foreign Exchange has certainly transcended many boundaries. This effort will reflect a continuation of their musical journey and represent them finally meeting in person (Nicolay resides in Germany, Phonte in North Carolina), said Phonte in a statement.
“The title refers to me and [Nicolay’s] journey to find our own unique space within this vast musical landscape. The biggest challenge as a musician is to find that ‘thing’ that makes you who you are. But I think we’re getting there, and we’re finding our way more and more with each record,” said the MC.
Authenticity will follow the group’s debut, Connected (2004), and their 2008 release, Leave It All Behind. Check out the track list below.
