Raekwon Announces ‘Shaolin Vs Wu-Tang’ Release Date for March
The man is everywhere.
Raekwon, one of the Wu-Tang Clan’s most illustrious members has been nearly everywhere recently. From the Justin Bieber collaboration to featured spots on the Jake One and Freeway album, Kanye West’s latest release and Ill Bill’s take on the DJ Muggs VS series, The Chef has been doing work, and he’s ready to serve up another entree. Shaolin Vs Wu-Tang, Raekwon’s fifth solo studio release, will be released in March of 2011, the rapper announced this week.
“Shaolin Vs Wu-Tang is done,” Rae announced on his YouTube page, “It’s coming out in March. It’s fire!”
Officially released on his own Ice H20 imprint, Shaolin will see distribution globally, handled by EMI.
In addition to divulging the release date, Rae has reportedly announced that the album will feature guest appearances from Black Thought, of the legendary Roots crew, and Nas. Other ‘Clan members are expected to make appearances as well, including Inspectah Deck and GZA, who has said he will be releasing his Liquid Swords 2, produced by RZA, sometime in the near future.
Shaolin will mark Rae’s second solo release in just over one year, coming on the heels of his Only Built For Cuban Linx… Pt II, the follow-up to his highly-praised solo debut.
Another Wu-Tang member, Ghostface Killah, is also set to mark his return as a solo artist. December 14 will see the release of Apollo Kids, Tony Starks’ ninth studio release.
All members of the Wu-Tang Clan except for RZA are currently amidst the 2010-11 Rebirth Tour, which features stops in 28 cities. Find out more details about the Wu-Tang Clan Rebirth Tour on our site.
