One Be Lo Spills Info on Solo Album and Binary Star Comeback
One Be Lo has announced the release month of his next solo effort, titled B.A.B.Y. (Being A Black Youth) in an interview with The Find Magazine. The newest solo effort from one-half of the Binary Star duo is set to be released in February 2010. One Be Lo also explained how the album will feature a huge amount of guest appearances–23 or 24 he says–although he still considers it his most cohesive effort to date. Nas, Mobb Deep, Freeway and Phonte were among those named as guests for Lo’s newest project, along with with cuts from DJ Abilities.
“It just comes together nicely, it’s a team effort and I like it,” he said in the interview. One Be Lo continued by explaining how himself and Senim Silla have begun work on the next group–Binary Star–album, titled Light Years Apart. This will serve as the follow-up to one of the most highly revered underground hip-hop records of all time, Masters of the Universe, which the two released in 2000 via Subterranous Records. He didn’t name a time frame for the group effort’s release, but Lo also stressed the differences between his solo work and their music as a group.
