RJD2 Auctions Off Beats On eBay To Benefit Japan

RJD2 Auctions Off Beats On eBay To Benefit JapaneBay The acclaimed DJ and producer is doing his part to help those in the East.

RJD2 announced this week that he’ll be stepping in to lend a hand to those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan last month. The renowned DJ and producer is offering five original beats on eBay, with the proceeds being donated to charity.

“I decided to do a one-time-only auction of some tracks I’ve been sitting on with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders,” the Eugene, Oregon native wrote on the auctions’ descriptions. Although the move was initiated by the tragic events in Japan, he explained, the donation is “untethered” to that specific region due to Doctors Without Borders’ anti-earmark policy. The proceeds will be added to their overall funds and allocated where needed the most.

The winning bidder will receive exclusive rights to the track, including the original ProTools session files, according to the auctions.

As of press time, the five tracks were currently priced between $150-250.

All of the beats up for sale can be found on eBay, and snippets of each one can be heard on RJD2′s SoundCloud page.
