Mos Def Tapped for Role in ‘Dexter’ TV Series
Mos gears up to play a role opposite Michael C. Hall in the forensic lab analyst/serial killer drama.
According to an exclusive report from Hollywood Reporter, Wu Tang’s RZA isn’t the only one that’s set for a new appearance on television. Mos Def has been tapped to appear in multiple episodes of the upcoming sixth season of the Showtime series Dexter, the site reported this week.
“The actor and hip hop artist will play a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence,” read the report from Hollywood Reporter. Without giving anything away, the site simply says that Dexter, the show’s main character who both works for the Miami Metro Police Department and is also secretly a serial killer who targets criminals that have escaped punishment from the law, will, “reveal the truth of who he really is.”
Mos Def’s character — his name was not revealed — will make appearances across multiple episodes, but the exact number isn’t clear at this point.
The sixth season of Dexter is set to begin production sometime in the spring of 2011.
