Mr. Lif, Slaine, Army of the Pharaohs and More to Headline Benefit Concert for AkrobaticBoston-based hip hop acts converge to raise funds for Akrobatik.

Esoteric — one-half of the group 7L & Esoteric — announced this week that a number of Boston-based hip hop acts will be performing together in June to raise funds for rapper Akrobatic, who recently suffered from a heart attack and underwent open-heart surgery.

Among the acts scheduled to appear at the benefit are Mr. Lif — who formed the group The Perceptionists alongside Akrobatic and DJ Fakts One — Slaine, Army of the Pharaohs, Esoteric, Termanology and many more.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 11 at The Middle East in Cambridge, MA. Tickets will cost $13 in advance and $15 at the door. All proceeds raised at the event will be donated to help cover medical costs.

Akrobatic first rose to prominence in the late 1990s, working with legendary New York indpendent outfits Fat Beats Records and Rawkus Records. Later, his group, The Perceptionists, inked a deal with the Definitive Jux imprint sometime around 2005.

The rapper is reported to be in stable condition and still recovering.
