Shad Joins Local-Heavy Hip Hop Lineup For Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party
The Canadian MC is called in to rock the Seattle crowd.
Canadian MC Shad was tapped alongside a slew of Seattle hip hop artists to perform at the rock-heavy lineup for the fifteenth rendition of the Emerald City’s Capitol Hill Block Party.
He’ll join a diverse range of musicians gathered at one of the year’s most storied and esteemed yearly events.
The block party, which takes over one of the liveliest neighborhoods in the city, touts a line up that’s chock-full of established and emerging indie rock groups (TV On The Radio, Explosions In The Sky, Thurston Moore, Ra Ra Riot and more). But that’s not all the festival has to offer — hip hop fans have reason to attend as well.
This year features a number of well-known Seattle artists like Grynch, Sol, Fresh Espresso as well as up-and-coming artists such as Kung Foo Grip and Brothers From Another.
Shad has garnered much critical and fan admiration for his three albums which focus heavily on social and societal issues. Most recently, the rapper received critical acclaim for his most-recent release, TSOL, snagging a coveted JUNO award for Rap Recording of the Year, beating out Eternia and Drake.
The Capitol Hill Block Party takes place on July 22, 23 and 24, in the South Capitol Hill district of Seattle. Three-day passes and single-day tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased from the event’s website.
