Digital Crate Digging: iCrates App

This new app from iCrates allows music shopped to compare prices and find out more information about records on the fly. Users can either scan the music’s barcode or search directly by artist, album or label to find what they’re looking for — or looking at. The app provides information about the release, including a rarity rating, average pricing, real-time online shopping results, related media and more.

Although its aimed toward the crate-digging vinyl crowd, it appears to be able to handle any recorded format. iCrates is available from iTunes. Watch the video below for a demonstration of the app at work. [Price: $1.99]
