Cypress Hill Sued for 1991 Sample Use (Also by Drive-In)

Cypress Hill (DJ Muggs, B-Real)Drive-In Music company is at it again. Just a week after they brought charges against Elektra, Busta Rhymes and the other members of Leaders of the New School, the Los Angeles-based outfit has their eyes set on Cypress Hill for the 1991 track “How I Could Just Kill a Man”.

They are contending that B-Real, Muggs & company illegally used a sample from The Music Machine’s track “Come On In” in their single, which debuted from their self-titled album on Ruffhouse Records.

Not only are they suing Cypress, but they have also brought charges against Apple for distribution of the track via iTunes. The company is seeking a halt put on all future sales of the song, along with an undisclosed amount for damages.
