Finally Reality: 1500 Pairs of Nike ‘Back To The Future’ MAGs Go To Auction

Finally Reality: 150 Pairs of Nike 'Back To The Future' MAGs Go To AuctionSome of the most-famous shoes in Nike history finally hit the auction block.

This week, Nike announced that they have partnered with Michael J. Fox — the actor that played Marty McFly in the Back To The Future series — to release 1500 pairs of the iconic sneakers donned by the McFly. The shoes even feature a light-up Nike nameplate on the front strap.

Each of the pairs — 150 every day for 10 days — will be put up for auction on eBay from September 8 through September 18. All of the proceeds from the sneaker sales will go to benefit research for Parkinson’s disease, which Michael J. Fox now suffers from.

Authentic 2011 Nike MAGs are currently selling for upwards of $5,000 on eBay. To view the available shoes, visit Nike’s official MAG auction site.

Editor’s note: Buyer beware, approximately 350 4″ ceramic shoes were given away at the launch event for these shoes in Hollywood. Many have found their way to eBay and are often hard to distinguish from the actual shoes up for auction.
