Raekwon and Nas to Release a Collaborative Album?
This week, in an interview with XXL, Raekwon revealed that him and Nas have been in talks about the possibility of releasing a full collaborative project.
“As far as an album?,” Raekwon said in the interview. “We talked about that.”
“If everybody want that and me and him be able to sit in a room and business is correct and we both respecting what it is, I’m down,” said Raekwon about the prospect of creating an entire album with the Queensbridge poet.
Although it seems likely that any realistic release date would be set for the distant future, the glimmer of hope for such an effort has undoubtedly excited fans around the world.
Raekwon and Nas have joined forces in the past, on tracks like “Verbal Intercourse” and “Rich and Black” — the latter from The Chef’s most-recent LP, Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang.
Nas’ 10th studio album, Life Is Good, is scheduled for release on July 17. Raekwon, last year, promised fans a third installment in his Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… series, but has yet to announce any specifics about that release coming to light in 2012.
Stay tuned for more information on a potential collaboration as it becomes available.
