Picnic Table, Bench and Plaque In Eyedea’s Honor To Be Placed in St. Paul Park
One of Eyedea’s favorite parks will receive a permanent reminder of his life.
The mother of the late rapper Eyedea took to the official Facebook fan page of his group Eyedea & Abilities last week to announce her plans to place a bench, picnic table and plaque in a local St. Paul park to honor her son. Donations are currently being accepted to help offset the expenses of the memorials.
“I have been asked many times where Mikey [Eyedea] is buried so people could go pay their respects.” explained Kathy, the mother of the late rapper, Michael Larsen, known as Eyedea. “Well I cremated Mikey. So for everyone who would like a place to go, be close, or see a place he spent a lot of time I’m putting a bench, picnic table and plaque in Cherokee Park in his honor.”
Kathy continued, explaining the importance of Cherokee Park in Eyedea’s life. “As a child i would take him there to play, swing, just be in nature. When he was a teen we would go sit on the bank and just be silent,” she wrote. “He would ride his bike there, take the dog for walks, and by adulthood he would write music there.”
Kathy is currently planning a dedication ceremony on the anniversary of Larsen’s passing on October 16.
Fans and supporters are asked to make direct donations through PayPal. In addition, all purchases made from MichaelLarsen.com will go to help pay for the costs of the ceremony.
