Del Says He’s Finished With ‘Deltron 3030′ Follow-Up Album

Del Says He's Finished With 'Deltron 3030' Follow-Up AlbumSir Dzl says he’s done recording for the album — now the countdown?

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien revealed last week that he’s finished recording his parts for the highly-anticipated follow-up to his and Dan The Automator’s collaborative 2000 album, Deltron 3030.

The Hieroglyphics crew alum wrote on his Twitter, “I got sick going hard on Deltron II and my part is officially DONE.”

The news comes after years of speculation and talk about a second album from the group, who’s collaborative debut has been highly-regarded as one of the best albums of the last decade. Earlier in 2011, Del revealed that the album was in fact in the works, saying that he was currently in the process then of recording his verses. The album is reportedly titled Deltron Event II.

It still remains unclear when the album may see an official release and what work still needs to be done.

Unfortunately, the sickness brought on by Del’s recording time — which he revealed to be walking pneumonia on his Facebook fan page — has also caused the West-coast rapper to postpone his previously-announced 20th anniversary tour dates, which were slated for October to celebrate two decades since the release of his solo debut album, I Wish My Brother George Was Here.

New dates for these shows have yet to be announced.
