Talib Kweli Speaks and Performs at Occupy Wall Street ProtestsAnother artist shows his support for the grass-roots protests taking place in NYC.

Talib Kweli recently revealed footage from his appearance at the Occupy Wall Street protests that have been taking place in New York City for almost a full month now.

The rapper stood in front of a large crowd of supporters in Liberty Plaza, giving his words of encouragement to the demonstrators.

“I’m at a loss for words,” Kweli explained, the words being echoed by all of those around him so amplify the volume. “But even me being at a loss for words is amplified. They want to know what the end game is. This is the end game. You doing your job. Everybody here with a camera. Everybody here with a computer. Everybody here with a smartphone. Everyone here with a voice. Do your job and spread the word. For the people who are sleeping here, you inspire us.”

The Brooklyn native also performed two tracks in acapaella format. He rapped his verse and the chorus from “Thieves In The Night” from his and Mos Def’s (Yasiin Bey) Black Star album. In addition, he performed a freestyle (or, free verse) talking specifically about the protests and touching on the geo-political issues at play.
