Mr. Dibbs Diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the Liver, Fans Asked to Donate to Cover $485,000 Medical Bills
The independent rap icon is in poor health and fans are asked for help him through his difficult times.
Mr. Dibbs, known not only for his work at a turntablist/DJ backing artists such as Atmosphere and El-P but also his founding role in the now-defunct Scribble Jam events, has recently been revealed to suffer from chronic liver disease. According to Mr. Dibbs’ official Facebook fan page, the artist has been submitted to length hospital stays and expensive procedures stemming from the disease. Fans have been asked to help donate to Mr. Dibbs to cover his bills that total in excess of $485,000.
“Last month [Mr. Dibbs] was diagnosed with Cirrhosis which is the scarring of the liver and poor liver function,” explains the new Facebook page set up to raise awareness for his current medical crisis. “It is the final phase of chronic liver disease. He is no longer able to work being that he is in and out of the hospital too much. In just a month, having no insurance, his medical bills have reached over $485,000.”
It’s unclear at this time who is managing the Mr. Dibbs fan page and the newly-formed “PayItFormard2MrDibbs” page.
Fans are asked to “Like” and share the PayItForward page, which also includes instructions for how to donate to Mr. Dibbs’ medical fund.
