M.O.P. and The Snowgoons Announce ‘Sparta’ Collaborative Album

M.O.P. and The Snowgoons Announce 'Sparta' Collaborative AlbumMash Out Posse teams up with the German production crew for a collaborative album.

The Brownsville to Germany connection was cemented this week as M.O.P.’s Billy Danze and Lil’ Fame officially announced their upcoming album, Sparta, which will be handled by the German production trio, The Snowgoons.

“Those dudes are incredible. When you hear this project, you’re going to be satisfied as an M.O.P. fan and a Snowgoons fan. I think you’re going to flip your wig,” Billy Danze explained in a video released this week. “They’ve got everything. It’s amazing to me because most of the time, producers have a signature sound. These guys already sent me like 50 tracks. They sent me 50 tracks and they’re blazing through and coming from different angles.”

The album, which will be dropping in November, will be the first for M.O.P. since their 2009 release, Foundation. The group touted it as being the “best hip hop album in the last ten years.”

The Snowgoons — formerly comprised of Det and DJ Illegal after DJ Waxwork left the group in 2009 — recently took on their newest crew member, Sicknature. The group has been critically acclaimed for their work with a slew of mostly-East-coast artists, including such notable MCs as Vinnie Paz and Apathy. They also recently announced that they’re at work on Your Favorite MC, a collaborative album with Philly rapper Reef The Lost Cauze.

Sparta is due out November 22 via Babygrande Records. Check out the full album tracklist and announcement video from M.O.P. below.
