Atmosphere Announces The Family Tour Dates

Minnesota hip hop duo, Atmosphere, reveals dates for their 2011 'The Family Tour', to coincide with the release of their seventh studio album, The Family Sign, which drops on April 12.The veteran Minneapolis group unveils yet more news for the year to come, this time in the form of another North American tour.

Ever-present Atmosphere released more information today surrounding the release of their seventh studio album, The Family Sign. To promote the release, Slug and Ant will be hitting the road in April for a string of dates they’ve titled The Family Tour.

Sean and Anthony will be joined by a healthy portion of their current Rhymesayers brethren, sharing the stage with Blueprint, Grieves and Budo, Sab The Artist and DJ Abilities for this tour.

The tour will start on April 20 with a show in Blueprint’s hometown, Columbus, Ohio. Stops will touch a total of 14 US states and three Canadian provinces, wrapping up with a final show on May 17 on Boulder, Colorado.

If previous tours provide any indication, it’s likely that the group will schedule additional shows at the end of the tour for their hometown of Minneapolis, which is not currently scheduled as part of the tour.

In addition to the normal guests, Rhymesayers revealed that the May 7 stop in Berkley, California will also feature appearances from Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz.

Pre-sale tickets will become available in limited quantities beginning on February 16 at 3:00 PM, according to the label. Fans are encouraged to follow the newly-active Atmosphere Twitter or Facebook accounts for the promotional code needed to buy early.

Atmosphere’s The Family Sign is set to be released on April 12.
