Obama Wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

Barack Obama has become the fourth U.S. President to win the Nobel Peace Prize β€œfor his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” (nobelprize.org). Theodore Roosevelt was awarded in 1906, followed by Woodrow Wilson in 1919, and Former President Jimmy Carter was given the Nobel in 2002.

Though Obama was awarded the prize after a record 205 nominations, according to several news comment posts about this story, feelings from Americans are extremely mixed.
