Derek Christoff, better known as D-Sisive, is a Canadian artist that first surfaced in the late ‘90s. He dropped several independent singles that became quite popular in Toronto’s underground hip-hop scene. In 2001, tragedy struck when his father passed away. This event marked the beginning of a six-year hiatus from performing and making music due to a bout of depression. Flash forward seven years to 2008, now signed to URBNET Records, he turned out the 8-track Juno-nominated EP titled, The Book. This album was followed up by the 2009 Polaris Music Prize-nominated LP, Let The Children Die. On November 18th, 2009, exactly 31 years after the Jonestown Massacre, D-Sisive dropped a free 12-track LP titled Jonestown. It’s an impressive, well constructed album that is a break from his previous dark and dreary projects, and best of all it doesn’t cost a thing. Also included are two “album sampler” tracks from both The Book and Let The Children Die. Download your copy now!
