Cage Talks to Hip Hop Official about Depart From Me
I’m a little late on this one, the interview has been up for around 2 months now but I just found it the other day. Take a look at this video, it really puts you inside the head of the evolving artist that is Cage. “It’s just a record about life, things that people can relate to,” he says about the new album.
He explains his willingness to turn away former listeners for the sake of being true to himself. He says this is a step toward the person he’s been working to become since the release of Hell’s Winter; “You stop and you look at yourself in the mirror and you say ‘I’m not that dude anymore’.” “Depart from me,” he says to the people who don’t like his new sound. “I don’t wanna make music for assholes.”
